COMMENTS.
Abbas Amanat, “Iran: A Modern History”, 2017 is a as title says a “modern Iranian history”. ABOVE is a diagram of when “modern history” is as opposed to other historical times.
Old Persian and New Persian are also languages of time eras essential to the culture. Old Persian is the language before 400 BC written in cuneiform’ script. New Persian is in the script after the religious conversion used today.

ABOVE is a table of Iranian chronology that applies to the book by Abbas Amanat, “Iran: A Modern History”, 2017. Abbey Amanat is a professor of history at Yale University, and has written an interesting book on a complex nation that is very readable.
