Here I present: John Montgomery, “Dictionary of Maya Hieroglyphs“, 2002.
INTRODUCTION.
This dictionary of Maya hieroglyphs attempts to fill a void by presenting more than 1,200 entries that include the most common glyphs and glyph compounds. Aimed at anyone interested in the subject, and in particular newcomers to decipherment and travelers to the Maya area.
COMMENT.
This dictionary is in alphabetical order of Maya with English defined hieroglyphs. ATOP this blog post are two (2) examples of Maya hieroglyphic writing transliterated into Latin letters. The dictionary has compounds of hieroglphs of main signs & affix (prefix/postfix, subfix/superfix & infix). Thompson numbers (T-#) are given fora all hieroglyphs. Example of the use Thompson numbers is shown ABOVE. Sample entry items from a page is BENEATH.
