He divided humans into linguistic superphyla: Nostratic & Dene-Caucasian. The two are often referred to as the Indosphere & Sinosphere (shown BELOW). This allows L. Cavalli-Sforza to have three (3) major races: Negroid, Caucasoid & Mongoloid. Mongoloid is two (2) subtypes of Asian-mongoloid & American-mongoloid.
