Rachel Carson’s, “Silent Spring” was the book 1960’s generation environmental movement bible. Jacques Cousteau, “The Silent World”, 1953 was foundational to the conservation movement. Jacques Cousteau was an incredible oceanographer, and marine biologist. When television came in the 1950’s, they watched Jacques Cousteau with this book in hand.
