Michael Crichton, “Andromeda Strain”, 1969 was a science-fiction novel published two months before the Apollo 11 moon landing. Extraterrestrial microbe strain causing a global pandemic is the plot storyline.  Harold Morowitz during  the Apollo 11 mission was in charge of quarantine for the returning three astronauts. “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”.
