Here I present: “Mathematical Slate“, Louis Braille’, “Procedure for Writing Words, Music & Plainsong in Dots“, 1829.
INTRODUCTION.
The Braille-Brannan mathematical slate has applications beyond arithemetic calculations. Here I present a scientific application of Braille-Brannan slate for the visually-impaired.
The microscope is used to view human, and other chromosomes’. The scientific notation used in discussion of human chromosomes’ is standardized by using letters of chromosome’ groups (ABCDEFG), plus chromosome’ numbers (1 to 22) with gender symbols (X & Y). The presentation of the human karyotype of chromosomes’ is depicted here in the 16×16 grid of the Braille-Brannan slate.
