Here I present: “Gastric Adenocarcinoma & Stomach Proximal-Polyposis”, Victor McKusick, Mendelian Inheritance in Man’, 1966. icd10=C16.9 (GAPPS).
INTRODUCTION.
Gastric adenocarcinoma & stomach proximal polyposis (GAPPS) is characterized by autosomal dominant transmission of fundic gland polyposis (FGP) with occasional hyperplastic and adenomatous polyps, sparing of the gastric antrum, and the development of intestinal-type gastric adenocarcinoma. Colorectal polyposis is not observed, and family history does not include colorectal cancer.
There is evidence that gastric adenocarcinoma & stomach proximal-polyposis (GAPPS) is caused by heterozygous mutation in the APC gene promoter-1B on cytogenetic location 5q22.2 and genomic coordinates 5:112,707,498-112,846,239. The screenshot of the APC gene 138,742 bp (base pairs) of DNA sequence length is shown BELOW. Nine (9) other genes besides APC in the 5q22.2 cytogenetic location are listed BENEATH.
