Here I present: “Hanukah Factor: Serine Protease”, Victor McKusick, Mendelian Inheritance in Man’, 1966. 光明節因子:絲氨酸蛋白酶。(GZMA).
INTRODUCTION.
Hanukah Factor is a synonym for granzyme (Enzyme Commission number: EC# 3.4.21.78). Granzyme is a serine protease released by cytoplasmic granules within cytotoxic T cells and natural killer (NK) cells. They induce programmed cell death (apoptosis) in the target cell, thus eliminating cells that have become cancerous or are infected with viruses or bacteria.
There is evidence granzyme type-A (GZMA) is encoded on cytogenetic location 5q11.2 and genomic coordinates 5:55,102,646-55,110,252. The screenshot of the GZMA gene 7,607 bp (base pairs) of DNA sequence length is shown BELOW. Nine (9) other genes besides GZMA in the 5q11.2 cytogenetic location are listed BENEATH.
