Salman Rushdie, “Midnight’s Children”, 1981 was the topic of an earlier blog post.

Here I present: Salman Rushdie, “Midnight’s Children”, 1981, PART TWO (2).
INTRODUCTION.
Salman Rushdie, “Midnight’s Children”, 1981 which was a magic realism novel that was adapted to film in 2013 by the Indian writer.
The protagonist is Saleem Sinaiwho is born in Bombay, INDIA on the stroke of midnight 15 August 1947. This is the very moment of Indias’s Independence.
Protagonist Saleem Sinai is born telepathic; and, all other India children born at the moment of India Independence are also telepathic.
COMMENTS.
Salman Rushdie, Chitra Banerjee, and other India writers are part of the “magical realism” genre. Myths of ancient Indian origin are weaved into stories. The Persian language is spoken in Afghanistan (Dari). Pakistani Urdu differs from Indian Hindi’ only by the two (2) languages are written in different scripts.
WHAT DID I JUST SAY? Persian-speech and Indian-speech are adjacent in the countries of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Two sides of the same language-coin.
Iranians call the speech “Farsi”, and “Dari” is the name of the Afghanistan same speech. “Urdu” speech in Pakistan, and Hindi’ speech in India are two (2) sides of same language coin.
Salman Rushdie, “Midnight Children”, 1981 is a telepathy SciFi novel. I am obviously not a politician. I read Science Fiction and “magical realism” as Indian writers use the term is Fantasy SciFi.
