Here I present: “Classic Hodgkin Lymphoma”, Victor McKusick, Mendelian Inheritance in Man’, 1966. 霍奇金淋巴瘤。(CHL).
INTRODUCTION.
Lymphoma is a group of blood and lymph tumors that develop from lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell). The name typically refers to just the cancerous versions rather than all such tumors. Signs and symptoms may include enlarged lymph nodes, fever, drenching sweats, unintended weight loss, itching, and constantly feeling tired. The enlarged lymph nodes are usually painless. The sweats are most common at night.
Classic Hodgkin lymphoma (CHL) is a lymph node cancer of germinal center B-lymphocyte cells origin. Classic Hodgkin lymphoma tumors consist of a minority of malignant cells, known as ‘Reed-Sternberg‘ (RS) cells, mixed with reactive lymphocytes and other benign inflammatory cells. A defining feature of RS cells is the presence of two (2) nuclei.
There is evidence that susceptibility to classic Hodgkin lymphoma (CHL) can be conferred by variation in the KLHDC8B gene on cytogenetic location 3p21.31 and genomic coordinates 3:49,171,598-49,176,486. The screenshot of the KLHDC8B gene bp (base pairs) of DNA sequence length is shown BELOW. Nine (9) other genes besides KLHDC8B in the 3p21.31 cytogenetic location are listed BENEATH.
