Marion Ravenwood, love interest of protagonist Indiana Jones.
Rene Belloq, antagonist rival archaeologist, employee of Nazi Germany.
Major Arnold Tohl, agent of the German Gestapo.
Sallah Mohammed, Egyptian excavator and old acquaintance of Indiana Jones.
PLOT.
In 1936, archaeologist Indiana Jones is recruited by the United States government to obtain the “Ark of the Covenant”. Indiana Jones competes with rival archaeologist Rene Belloq, who Nazi Germany employed to obtain the “Ark of the Covenant”.

COMMENTS.
This is a SciFi story and answering the question posed by Philip Nicholls “What is the science in a SciFi story?” _ the answer is: the science is Archaeology. Archaeology as shown ABOVE in the diagram consists of other subjects. Archaeologist primarily are concerned with “excavation of ancient sites”. The history of writing shown BELOW is sometimes used by archaeologist to discover architectural remains in the excavation sites.
