- Here I present: “Ioannis Yannis, “Mutlilayer Membrane Useful as Synthetic Skin”, 29 November 1977, US PATENT # 4,080,081.
The invention drawing is shown ABOVE; and, three (3) cell types: fibroblasts, epithelial cells & endothelial cells grow in the direction of the arrows on the diagram. - The invention claim is for moisture transmission through the two-layers of membrane.
- ABOVE are the three (3) different physiologic areas of human skin.
- BELOW the three (3) different physiologic areas of human skin have specific fungi on it.
BELOW the three (3) different physiologic areas of human skin have specific bacteria on it.

- Here I presented:
Ioannis Yannis, “Mutlilayer Membrane Useful as Synthetic Skin”, 29 November 1977, US PATENT # 4,080,081.
The invention is synthetic skin; and, human skin has a distribution of microbiology shown in the diagram BELOW.- SUMMARY
Ioannis Yannis is the engineer who made a significant contribution to burn covering with this invention of “Multilayer Membrane Useful as Synthetic Skin”.
This synthetic skin is usually called “Burke-Yannis” graft. Dr. John Burke, MD was the burn surgeon who first used the Ioannis Yannis invention. The microbial infection in burn injuries was prevented by the this invention. The body is easy viewing if one uses 0 to 360 the acupuncture points system, shown BELOW.
