Joe Fox & James Nubile (directors), “Passing Poston: An American Story” was a film I saw for limited engagement (July 11th-17th of 2008) in “Little Tokyo”, Los Angeles, California at the “ImaginAsian Center” cinema. The protagonist of the screenwriting is “Dr. Ruth Okimoto” a Japanese-American internee of the Poston, Arizona “Relocation Center Camp” during World War II.The historic “Linda Lea Theater”, in Little Tokyo ,California showed-only Japanese films for decades before shuttering in the 1980’s. The “ImaginAsian” was the renovated “Linda Lea Theater” grounds with a brand-new building. The “ImaginAsian” cinema as the new “Linda Lea Theater” was in operation from 2004 to 2011 showing only Japanese films in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles.
Joe Fox & James Nubile (directors), “Passing Poston: An American Story”, 2007 will always be remembered by me (seen on the historic “Linda Lea Theater” site) as great documentary film.
