Evangelista Torricelli, “Pressure Barometer”, 1643 was an invention by the Italian scientist for the study of gas-phase, vapors. Evangelista Torricelli’s “pressure barometer” was mercury-in-glass device; and, was the inspiration for Daniel Fahrenheit, mercury-in-glass, thermometer, 1724. Pressure study is the science contribution of Evangelista Torricelli;
“pressure scale” and “pressure barometer” were his inventions. The development of the pressure barometer would impact the science & technology of the era. The age of the “Steam Engine” was coming closer; and, the study of “meteorology” was to become a new science.
