Steven Spielberg, “Close Encounters of the Third Kind (Leslie Waller, novelization)”, 1977 was a UFO science fiction, novelized screenplay. Film director Steven Spielberg screen-wrote “Close Encounters of the Third”. Leslie Waller’s novelization was released simultaneously with the film, and sold over 3,000,000 copies. The best-seller novelization was a measure of the cultural impact of this UFO science fiction. The title “third kind” refers not to sighting; but, actual “contact” with extraterrestrials. Steven Spielberg also had success with the film “ET: The Extraterrestrial”. The novelization book market wanted these items, as much as the film market.
