The H(+)-Transporting ATP Synthase , Enzyme Commission 7.1.2.2 was the topic of an earlier blog post. Here I present the Ca(2+)-Transporting ATPase, Enzyme Commission 7.2.2.10, As shown in the above diagram, it is part of the “sarcoplasmic reticulum”, and a membrane protein of the plasma membrane as well. On the Roche Biochemical webpage it is location at “S”, and coordinate “5” (the center of the chart). In the above diagram, note that “calsequestrin” the calcium-buffer is also shown, and is important in calcium biochemistry.
