F. Benedict and W. Atwater, “A Respiration Calorimeter with Appliances for the Direct Determination of Oxygen”, 1902 was a physiology science publication. Wilbur Atwater was the first scientist to apply the “conservation of energy” to the human body. Here with a colleague he used “respiratory calorimeter” for the first time in history.
