INTRODUCTION.
The 13q34 chromosome region contains the structural genes for Coagulation Factor-VII (F7) and Coagulation Factor-X (F10). Because these two critical blood-clotting factors are located only 2.8 kilobases apart on the terminal end of the long arm of chromosome 13, genetic abnormalities in this specific region directly alter how these factors are expressed.
