Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) is a fast-growing cancer of the blood and bone marrow where immature white blood cells (myeloblasts) accumulate and crowd out normal blood production.
Phosphatidylinositol-binding clathrin assembly protein (PICALM) is involved in cellular trafficking, regulation of endocytosis, and clathrin-mediated vesicle formation. It is tightly associated with iron homeostasis and cell proliferation, and these processes are strongly tied to embryonic development.
