Here I present: “BIOINFORMATICS’: Computational Biology“, Victor McKusick, “Mendelian Inheritance in Man’, 1966.
INTRODUCTION.
The term bioinformatics’ was first coined by Margaret O. Dayhoff. Dayhoff was a professor at the Georgetown University in Washington DC until 1983 (I meet her in 1983). Bioinformatics’was the field Margaret O. Dayhoff pioneered in the 1960’s.
The next game-changer in bioinformatics’ occurred in 2001 when Human Genome Project data was included in the Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man’. This combination in 2001 resulted in biochemistry’ as diagnosis of nosology’.
