INTRODUCTION.
The Library of Congress (LOC) and National Library of Medicine (NLM) are two (2) different libraries of the United States government in Washington DC (district/suburban). The National Library of Medicine (NLM) classification system is derived from the Library of Congress (LOC) call numbers.
The system is alphabetically arranged, however the NLM focus is on Q (science) & W (health). The classification system is given BELOW.
