Here I present: “Anthrax Toxin Receptor”, Victor McKusick, Mendelian Inheritance in Man’, 1966.
INTRODUCTION.
- Anthrax can cause severe illness in both people and animals.
- The bacteria that causes anthrax occurs naturally in soil worldwide is Bacillus anthracis.
- People usually get Bacillus anthracis anthrax from infected animals or contaminated animal products (fleshy food).
Anthrax toxin receptor protein type-1 (known as ANTXR1) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ANTXR1 gene. The Anthrax toxin receptor type-1 is a 63kDa molecular weight protein. There is evidence that the ANTXR1 gene is on cytogenetic location 2p13.3 and genomic coordinates 2:69,013,144-69,249,327. The screenshot of the ANTXR1 gene 236,184 bp (base pairs) of DNA sequence length is shown BELOW. Nine (9) other genes besides ANTXR1 in the 2p13.3 cytogenetic location are listed BENEATH.
