INTRODUCTION.

Adult T-cell leukemia (ATL) is a cancer of the immune system’s T-cells caused by human T cell leukemia virus type-1 (HTLV-1).

FOXN2 belongs to class 2 of the forkhead box (FOX) family of transcription factors, members of which lack a basic region at the C-terminal end of the FOX domain. There is evidence that HTLV-1 involves a mutation in the Forkhead box N2 (FOXN2) gene on cytogenetic location 2p16.3 and genomic coordinates 2:48,313,659-48,379,295 .
