Here I present: “Translocated Promoter Region”, Victor McKusick, Mendelian Inheritance in Man’, 1966.
INTRODUCTION.
The translocated promoter region (TPR) gene encodes a structural component of the nuclear basket, which is a component of the nuclear pore complex. Nuclear pore complexes are nuclear envelope channels that regulate the trafficking of macromolecules between the nucleus and cytoplasm. The translocated promoter region (TPR) and associated proteins play a role in transcriptional regulation and mRNA export.
There is evidence of tumor potentiating region equating with the (TPR) gene on cytogenetic location 1q31.1 and genomic coordinates 1:186,311,652-186,375,253 . The screenshot of the TPR gene 63,602 bp (base pairs) of DNA sequence length is shown BELOW. Nine (9) other genes besides TPR in the 1q31.1 cytogenetic location are listed BENEATH.
