INTRODUCTION.
The “iconic” structure of the United States of America (USA) is the “Washington Monument” in the District of Columbia (DC). The Washington Monument is an obelisk on the “National Mall” in Downtown Washington, D.C., built to commemorate George Washington, the first President of the United States. Standing east of the Reflecting Pool and the Lincoln Memorial.

COMMENTS.
I was a resident of Washington DC for several years; and I have an intimate knowledge of the DC Metro subway (map shown ABOVE).
Takoma Station (shown ABOVE) on the RED LINE was the closest subway stop in my neighborhood. Ridership on the Washington DC subway has returned to levels before the Covid-19 Pandemic. It is now completely safe to ride all public transportation; and Washington DC has beautiful neighborhoods (map shown ABOVE) such Takoma neighborhood.
