Here I present: Leonardo Da Vinci (1452 – 1519), “Leonardo’s Anatomical Drawings”.
INTRODUCTION.
Like all students, my earliest memories of anatomical sketches were the drawings of Leonardo Da Vinci (1452 – 1519). These drawings were the basis of Andreas Vesalius, “On the Fabric of the Human Body”, 1543 and “Scientific Revolution”. European print book were available when Leonardo was born in 1452 AD; and Leonardo lived in era of first “Science Book Printers” in Europe.
COMMENTS.
Victor McKusick, “Mendelian Inheritance in Man”, 1966 uses “Human Proportion” sketch of Leonardo as its “feature image” shown BELOW. Leonardo’s Anatomical Drawings, are sketchings by an Artist born in 1452 AD. Print impressions of Sumerian Mesopotamia’ cuneiforms from 3,500 BC are readable books today. In between 3,500 BC and 1543 AD, thinking “scientifically” did not began until Leonardo Da Vinci (1452 -1519).
