INTRODUCTION.
All cells undergo “cytokinesis (cell division)”; however “karyokinesis (nucleic division)” occurs only in half of life’s organisms.
Karyokinesis five (5) phases, and Cytokinesis are shown BELOW.
This dichotomy concept is what Lynn Sagan became famous for in 1967 is prokaryote versus eukaryote.
In the table BELOW everything but the last item #12 Prokaryote are not Mitosing Cells. Eukaryote is a synonym for Mitosing Cells.

COMMENTS.
The author name is Lynn Margulis-Sagan; and she married the astronomer Carl Sagan. The book shown ABOVE entitled Lynn Margulis, “Origin of the Eukaryotic Cells”, 1970 is a classic reference today. These ideas were controversial in 1967; however Lynn Sagan & husband Carl lived on the edge scientific debate of the 1960’s.
