MUSIC HISTORY. The first piece of music in history is a Mesopotamian’ song. The Mesopotamia’ Hurrian language is the source of 1,400 BC “Hymn to Nikkal” 𐎐𐎋𐎍 “nkl”.

COMMENTS.
The purpose of this blog post was to present ancient writings much earlier than medieval Guido of Arezzo, “Micrologus”, 1026 AD.
Writing began in Sumeria Mesopotamia’ around 3,500 BC; and, music-writing began in Ugarit Mesopotamia’ in 1,400 BC. The Nikkal Hymn can be heard on YouTube.
