When this textbook was published in 1994 the “Human Genome Project”, was in its infancy state. Victor McKusick, “Mendelian Inheritance in Man: Catalog of Human Genes and Genetic Disorders, 1966 was a significant book in this era of 1994.
However, today “Mendelian Inheritance in Man” (MIM) is available online with the completed “Human Genome”.
This is a significant idea; and, Bruce Alberts & Others, “Molecular Biology of the Cell”, 1994 published in the Appendix “Catalogue of Adult Human Cells”. This listing of the 211 cell types that make up the human body was not published earlier in textbooks. The “medical profession” was the only exception; and, the 211 cell types is now standardized for “lay” readers.
