Edgar Allan Poe, “The Unparalleled Adventure of one Hans Pfaall”, was the least successful book of Edgar Allan Poe. The book is a travelogue to the moon, by the main character Hans Poe. The plot storyline has the Earth about to become inflamed due a meteor strike and Hans Pfaall travels to the Moon. The balloon of Hans Pfaall flight has a device that generates oxygen from space vacuum. “The Pit and the Pendulum” is a great example of a genre that Edgar Allan Poe is famous for. Here we find Poe experimenting in the newly popular genre of the science fiction of 1835.
