Edgar Rice Burroughs, “Tarzan of the Apes”, 1912 was the topic of an earlier blog post. Pierre Boule, “Planet of the Apes”, 1963 was also the topic of an earlier blog post. Here I present similarly:
Edgar Wallace & Merian C. Cooper, “King Kong” (Delos W. Lovelace, novelized), 1933 the book released with the original film. Merian C. Cooper (born 1893-1973 died), was the screenwriter that conceived of the character “King Kong”. The character of “King Kong” is a fantasy-monster set in an adventure-horror story.
The “King Kong” franchise most recent release “Godzilla vs. Kong”, 2021 film has shown to be as popular as the original 1933 “King Kong”. Merian C. Cooper, like Edgar Rice Burroughs & Pierre Boule (as mentioned above) all find success in writing about “ape science fiction”.
