Sigmund Freud, “On Cocaine”, 1884 describes the experimental use on himself of “cocaine” by psychiatrist, Sigmund Freud.  The molecular formula of cocaine is C17H21NO4 ; and, the molecular structure is shown below.  Richard Willstatter chemist, in “Beriche der Deutschen 

Chemischen Gesellschaft”, volume 34, page 1457, year 1901: is the chemical synthesis of cocaine.  However, in 1884 Sigmund Freud as “psychonaut” used “botanical”, not “synthetic” cocaine.
Richard Willstatter became a famous chemist and won the Chemistry 1915 Nobel Prize. Richard Willstatter was not a “psychonaut” tripper on narcotics; only, a University chemistry professor.

Sigmund Freud never received a Nobel Prize award in his life, because of him being a “psychonaut”. Before the publication of Sigmund Freud, “On Cocaine”, 1884 the narcotic was of no significance.  The publication by Sigmund Freud elevated “cocaine” to “opium” status in the “psychonaut” world.

John Pemberton pharmacist in Atlanta, Georgia invented “Coca-Cola” in 1886 a beverage containing  “cocaine” with “caffeine”.  This two years after Sigmund Freud’s, “On Cocaine”, 1884 caused substance to be an addiction; thus, the suggestion of Sigmund Freud for a Nobel Prize is a joke.
