Jeffrey Alford & Naomi Duguid, “Seductions of Rice: A Cookbook”, 1998 was the topic of an earlier blog post. Also, the cookbook: Naomi Duguid, “Burma: Rivers of Flavor”, 2012 was the topic of an earlier blog post. .

Here I present: Jeffrey Alford & Naomi Duguid, “Flatbreads & Flavors”, 2008 was a cookbook of the oldest bread in the World, “the flatbread”.  The oldest bread in the world is “the flatbread” and  Americans eat more “wheat flour” than anything else.

The map above of the United States; and. the map below of Europe shows that “pizza” and “tortilla” are the most popular flatbreads in the World.

The table below shows the annual American per capita of “over 2,000” pounds food. 183 pounds Wheat, 90 pounds Chicken, 86 pounds SugarBeet, 65 pounds SugarCane, 54 pounds Beef, 50 pounds Pork, 38 pounds Sugar HFCS (high fructose corn syrup), 32 pounds Cheese & 25 pounds “Pizza” are eaten annually by Americans.

“Pizza” at 25 pounds beats “fishes”(shellfish & finfish) at 16 pounds.  Mozzarella cheese is the most popular with Americans; and, pizza is the flatbread Mozzarella cheese is atop.  While “Cheddar” cheese (with macaroni) is second; and, “Hispanic” cheeses (on “tortilla”) is third to Mozzarella.

Here I presented: Jeffrey Alford & Naomi Duguid, “Flatbreads & Flavors”, 2008 was a cookbook of the oldest bread in the World, “the flatbread”.   I have shown two of the eight maps from Jeffrey Alford & Naomi Duguid, “Flatbreads & Flavors”, 2008 of the United States & Europe of flatbreads. 337 pounds of “Corn product” & 183 pounds of “wheat” account for large breads consumption annually in America.
