Isaac Asimov, “The Future of Chemical Engineering”, CHEMICAL ENGINEERING PROGRESS. January 1988 (p 43-49). PART TWO (II).

Arthur Koestler, “The Act of Creation
“, 1964 was the topic of an earlier blog post.

Arthur C. Edwards, “Practical Lessons in Melody-Writing, 1963, PART TWO (2) was also the topic of an earlier blog post.

Here I present: Isaac Asimov, “The Future of Chemical Engineering”, CHEMICAL ENGINEERING  PROGRESS. January 1988 (p 43-49). PART TWO (II).

INTRODUCTION.

Isaac Asimov listed three (3) areas for the future of chemical engineering.

#1. Nuclear Energy.

#2. Aerospace Travel.

#3. Biotechnology.

The first (#1) “nuclear energy” and second (#2) “aerospace travel” areas of most people recognize.  Isaac Asimov wrote in 1988 “The Future of Chemical Engineering”.

The third (#3) area “biotechnology” became bioinformatics’   Computer networks became commonplace in 1989

COMMENTS.

John Newlands creativity gave the world the periodic table of chemical elements’ as an analogy to music scales.  Hidden analogy of music as the foundation of chemistry is important. Engineers, chemists, doctors etcetera are “knowledgeable workers” founded on John Newlands periodic table’ of elements’.

HERE  is “Stages of Objectivity & Subjectivity”, from Arthur Koestler, “Act of Creation”, 1964.   The graphic of Arthur Koestler  has obvious extensions.   Chemical engineering and Music are two extensions I included.
