He is famous in astronomy for the discovery of the “Three Laws of Planetary Motion”. In contrast, “Omnium: The Dream”, 1634 is a hardly known science fiction novel. His son Ludwig Kepler, published “Somnium: The Dream”, 1634 after the death of his father. The narrator of “Somnium” is an Icelandic Boy who learns from a Witch; that the Moon is an Island. The story is of how the Earth looks from the Moon. This is an example of early science fiction with the hard-science, of Astronomy as its basis.
