Oliver Sacks, “The Island of the Colorblind”, 1997 was a nonfiction science book about the Micronesian isle of Pingelap. Achromatopsia (colorblindness) is a hereditary condition of the Pingelap population. This is “physiologic” invisibility, were as H. G. Wells, “Invisible Man”, 1897 is physical invisibility.
