Rustichello of Pisa, “The Travels of Marco Polo”, 1298 was the most significant travelogue of the 13th century. Other medieval travelers might not have actually reached China, but Marco Polo went to the Great Khanate. Rustichello of Pisa recorded Marco’s trips while the two were in prison.
