Louis Braille, “Procedure for Writing Words, Music & Plainsong”, 1829. PART SIX (VI).

Here I present: Louis Braille‘, Procedure for Writing Words, Music & Plainsong‘, 1829. PART SIX (VI).

INTRODUCTION.

Louis Braille 1829 invention of the Braille writing system was a historic event. The “speech waveforms” were first represented as writing in Mesopotamia in 3,500 BC. The represention of the “waveform alphabet” shown ABOVE is different from the Braille alphabet.

Louis Braille invented in 1829 using “flat=0” and “raised dot=1” an early example “binary coding“.  Like the “waveform alphabet“, a line of Braille cells represents a timeline of speech. The difference is that Braille is digital (0 or 1 as flat or raised-dot); whereas spoken “waveform alphabets” is nondigital (analog).  Analog and digital are completely different forms of communication.
