Ligi Paul, Diet, Nutrition & Telomere Length, 2011 was the topic of an earlier blog post.

Here I present: Ligi Paul, “Diet, Nutrition & Telomere Length”, PART TWO (II), 2011.

INTRODUCTION.

This is an extension of the previous blog post. The essence of this discussion is “Telomerase” which designated EC # 2.7.7.49. Senescence (deterioration of function with age) is controlled by “Telomerase” (TTAGGG)n repeats at the ends of the chromosomal DNA.  Enzyme activity of “Telomerase” is modulated by metabolites (both foods & drugs).

Here I presented: Ligi Paul, “Diet, Nutrition & Telomere Length”, PART TWO (II), 2011.

CONCLUSION.

This designation of “Telomerase” as EC #2.7.7.49  can be found in databases listed BELOW (from enzyme.expasy.org).   This problem of the metabolites of food limiting the somatic cell cycling in diet can be solved nutritionally.
