Here I present: Emile Zuckerkandl & Linus Pauling, “Molecules as Documents of Evolutionary History”, Journal of Theoretical Biology”, year 1965, volume 8, pages 357-366.

COMMENTS.

In 1965 when this paper was published it was groundbreaking, as it defines as new class of molecules called “semantides”.

Semantides are polynucleotides & polypeptides.  Semantides are the molecules of mutational change.   Semantide today is reduced to simply saying DNA (shown ABOVE).
