This book is an historical fiction of the story behind the Taj Mahal ताज महल in Agra, INDIA.
The Taj Mahal in Agra, India is an Islamic, architecture mausoleum on the bank of the Yamuna River. Emperor Shah Jahan commissioned the construction of the Taj Mahal in 1631 AD; and, the Taj Mahal houses the tomb of Emperor Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal.

In 1631 AD Emperor Shah Jahan commissioned the construction of the Taj Mahal of Agra, INDIA; and, the Taj Mahal of Agra is the modern history equivalent of the Great Pyramid of Giza.
The Taj Mahal mausoleum houses the tomb (shown ABOVE) of Emperor Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal.
The novel tells the story of the eldest daughter of emperor, Jahanara who recalls growing up in the emperor’s residence (shown BELOW) of the Red Fort of Agra, INDIA.
Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal, had for love each other; and the events that took place during the construction of the fabulous monument to their love is the story daughter Jahanara narrates.
Although Shah Jahan is the emperor and has many wives; Mumtaz Mahal gives birth to the couple’s fourteen (14) children.
Favorite daughter of these fourteen (14) children, Jahanara was instructed in influence and political strategy by her mother, Mumtaz Mahal.
From then on it is Jahanara who falls in love with Taj Mahal architect, Isa, a man whom she can never marry. Isa and Jahanara are the protagonist couple in this historical fiction by John Shors.
