Here I presented: Charles Darwin, “Zoology’ of the Voyage of HMS Beagle (1831-1836)” which a “travelogue” by the English naturalist.

SUMMARY.

Charles Darwin’s voyage (1831-1836) around the took five (5) years from 1831 to 1836. The English naturalist was twenty-one (2) years old when HMS Beagle set sail in 1831.

Jules Verne’ ,”Around the World in Eighty Days”, 1872 was a science fiction travelogue’ of protagonist Phileas Fogg. The protagonist Phileas lives in London, England and has a French valet (foil character) named Passepartout.  The two men are going to circumnavigate the world on a wager for money.  The 1869 Suez Canal completion gave Eighty (80) day around-world trip to travel.

COMMENTS.

The itinerary of Charles Darwin is what make this travelogue’.  Darwin’s trip is to isolated locations, that would be used in theory of evolution. The itinerary that Charles Darwin wrote about in 1859 could in 1869 going by the Suez Canal an experience for  Jules Verne’ fiction characters of 1872.  The Panama Canal completion in 1914 meant circumnavigation was commonplace.
