Human Chromosome Slides was the topic of an earlier blog post that is a “PowerPoint” presentation. Above I show two chromosomes that are often seen in “trisomy” in diploid cells. Trisomy 21 is commonly called “Down Syndrome”. The 6th item from the bottom (left side) says “Down syndrome cell adhesion molecule”. The 7th item from the top (right side) says “Down syndrome (critical region)”. Down is one of ten trisomy disorders commonly researched. A table of these is shown below, were it is noted that large chromosome trisomy is unlikely to be seen.
